Etsy competition

Hey guys,

seeing all the success over the last year's with etsy in the US I decided to do some research for my country (central Europe). Ebay was always on number one here but since 2 or 3 years it's less and less used by people for whatever reason. On the other hand Etsy is in a nice uptrend for the last 3 years! My actual question...I want to see how good the competition is in terms of SEO in certain niches. Is there a tool for that? Something like semrush for Etsy? The US is way more advanced when it comes to SEO than Europe. I made a website for my real life business and got ranked first in a matter of 2 months without much work! That's why I thought why not checkout Etsy and try to outrank some shops. Any advice would be appreciated.

Forget Etsy.
They ban everybody.
Even if you pay 15$/€.

They are not interested in anybody, they dont care about anything, they dont care about anybody, they dont care about you. The banhammer hits every hour.

I don't even intend to dropship, maybe even produce myself. Is it really that bad? I thought they're just after dropshipping shops.

eBay's hold definitely seems to be slipping. There isn't a specific Etsy version of SEMrush, but there are ways to get a feel for the competition's SEO. You can check out similar shops' tags, titles, and descriptions to see what keywords they're targeting. Etsy itself offers some SEO tools within the platform, like their keyword research feature.
