How does it work?
Step 1: Both seller and buyer log in using Metamask.
Step 2: One of the parties (it doesn't matter who) fills in the form they see after logging in and creates a contract.
Step 3: The second party receives a notification about the new contract and approves it (or adjusts if he doesn't agree with its terms).
Step 4: Buyer deploys the contract into the blockchain and transfers the funds into it.
Step 5: Seller finishes the order and sends it to the buyer.
Step 6: Buyer checks the order and releases the funds if everything is alright.

How much does it cost?
Zenland fee is charged per contract deployed. The fee depends on the contract amount. The bigger the sum, the smaller fee we charge.



What if buyer doesn't want to release the funds after seller has done the job?
Buyers are given a certain time (buyer protection time) to check and confirm that the order fits their expectations. Buyers have the right to release the funds or open the first stage of dispute until the buyer protection time is expired.

If buyer doesn’t take any action, seller will have the right to release the funds by himself/herself after the buyer protection time expires.

In the first stage of dispute, parties are given time to discuss (revisions, replacements, etc.) and resolve the issue by themselves.

Suppose they are not able to reach a consensus by themselves. In that case, they can escalate the dispute to the second stage, where an agent is invited to investigate the case and decide who will receive the funds (sent to either one party or split between two parties).

The existing agent roles are taken and managed by Zenland employees until the Zenland DAO is formed. After that, all agents will be selected by the community.

Agent fee: Agents are paid a fee of 1% (additional to the Zenland fee) for resolving cases, which is deducted from the contract amount. Agent fee is charged only if an agent is invited.


Refund Policy
We do not refund any amount topped up or given as a bonus. To avoid any inconvenience and know how much to add to their balance, users can enter the amount they want in the New Contract form and see the exact fee amount charged for it.

All users are offered a $1 bonus to their balance to pay the Zenland fee when they sign up for the first time. This is designed to help them test the service and see if it is something they want to use without spending their actual money.

Currently, you can use USDT, USDC, BUSD, or DAI.

2. What blockchains can I deploy a contract to?
At the moment, you can deploy a contract to 6 major blockchains as Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Avalanche, Fantom, Polygon and Gnosis.

3. Is Zenland audited, and is the smart contract source code publicly available for anyone who wants to audit?

The core idea of Zenland is that it is decentralized (this can be confirmed by anyone who wants to look at the source code of the escrow contract that can be found under the New Contract form). As a team behind the app, we do not have access to any escrow contract created using our app. We can't cancel, pause, delay, or delete the contracts, or interact in any way with the funds inside them.

Unlike traditional escrow services, where the funds are kept by a third-party entity (company or individual), on Zenland, buyers and sellers draft, activate, and execute their escrow deals independently.

As a new platform we obviously lack exposure and understand your trust concerns. That said, our mission as a web3 escrow platform is to eliminate the very trust factor from the online trades and let people to buy and sell without trusting the other party. And this is the beauty of web3 and blockchain technologies.

Zenland agents can’t read your chat or interact with the contract until the state of the contract is changed to Agent Invited https://docs.zen.land/contract-actions/invite-an-agent. Only buyer or a seller can invite an agent to the contract and until that moment no one can access the contract.

As you can see when an agent is invited, the agent's only allowed function is to release the money from the contract to either buyer, seller, or split between them. Agent's assistance is based on the evidence both parties provide per request.

Our credibility can be proven by the source code of the contract as there are no backdoors for Agents to materially profit from cases except the allowed resolution fee of 1%-3% based on the case complexity and mediation efforts. To ensure no case is left neglected or unresolved, currenctly NDA-signed employees take responsibility as Agents.

When we have enough dedicated community members to form a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), only community-voted Agents would be assigned to cases.
