I have been going back and forth with this a bit,

I have a few keywords that I would like to be ranked for, they are somewhat related, and all apart of the same niche,

should I be trying to get the actual page on my site ranked for it, or my site itself in general?

Target 1-3 keywords per page on your site imo.

Targeting many keywords per page is possible be requires good back linking and context.

well, the pages themselves should be linking back to your homepage which will rank your website itself...

however, I've been wondering this myself... as I took a different route in ranking my money term, and targeted a page instead of my main URL. Have been fighting in the top 5 for the term for 8-9 months now.

    That's why I'm confused.

I can't rank the page for my term for the life of me but my main site is ranking on the 3rdpage of google
