No hesitation in calling these guys scammers. They bought (through one of their many 'shell' companies) a domain in a name my company uses regularly and are now trying to sell it to us for thousands of $ even though it is worthless to them, no site, not even a parking page. They claim that the site 'owner' wants X amount, but actually they are the site owner. Looking around, both Enom and acquirethisname have an unenviable reputation for being totally unethical charlatans, they warehouse bul URL's and have lost pretty much every case in which they have had domain name rights disputed. A quick search shows that loads of people have had this done to them.
