I am working on SEO for few companies in my country and the # of websites that offering links is very low, so I was wondering if I buy links from English websites, and use keywords on my language, will that work OK, or will I have problems with Google?

SEOwhat,

If for some reason you are getting a lot of links from English sites to a non-english site naturally or if you only create enough to not raise suspicion, you should be fine. You will run into problems when you start doing things that don't look natural. For instance if you start building a bunch of links from sites that would normally have no business linking to you, then that could raise a red flag. For example links leading from an site written in English that provides literacy services to people in America leading to a non-english site with resources for those literacy clients would be normal. If there is no logical relationship and the site pops up on Googles radar, then it will be penalized.

Best,

Shawn

thanks a lot for reply, the companies I work with are in construction niche so I think it should be OK to add links from English websites that are in construction niche too.

Yes, that would be okay, if it was niche specific. Also please keep in mind.. Don't build too much of links.. It was worked fine before, but with the recent Google Updates -- > "risky"

All the best! TY

What you are referring to is local SEO. Getting links from English links to non English links won't rank you for your intended Google local site. Instead buy links from sites within your preferred country.

Yes, it'll be fine. As Shawn wrote you before you can be penalized only if you do something what looks unnatural to Google. Basically I would recommend you to build links from English sites to your site gradually, not more than 5 links a week. Also anyway try to find some relevant pages, it's important. Moreover take care of PR of your links and anchors. Don't build too many high PR links. Mostly to looks natural you need to build at least 3-4 PR1-2 links per one high PR link. Also don't forget to use URL and domain name of your site as an anchor texts. In this case you will looks completely natural and there is nothing to be worry about. Check this website, these guys have amazing selection of high quality links, perhaps you will find some for your self. Also they provide good SEO consulting so you may speak to them and take a professional suggest.
