I recently read that it's important to use a secure/encrypted connection when ftp'ing files to your server. Apparently it's very easy for your information to get hacked if you don't. I've been using filezilla and it seems to have recently added sftp ability. This software was recommended elsewhere online:
    Code:
    http://winscp.net/eng/index.php
I was wondering does anyone know much about securing your ftp connection? Does anybody here already use the software above?

    Thanks a lot

    Yeah WinSCP is pretty good.

The reason you want to use an SFTP connection is because when you login via normal FTP, your password is sent in plain text and if anyone uses a sniffer, they can view your password.

Using SFTP is pretty much a must. :)

    Thank you both!
