So angry at Google right now.

Big site Ive poured my heart and soul into has been hit bad.

Unique content (all written and researched by me) and quality backlinks.

Its an EMD and the EMD phrase got hit from #2 to #11 but thats nothing compared to what happened to the rest of the KWs I was targetting...

ALL bar one KW Im targetting have disappeared from the SERPs. Traffic is down so much and earnings are minimal.

I have bought a YEE-HA SEO package in past few days so I dont know if this is a dance or something worse...

    Can anyone advise?

    THANKS!

PS - This is the best bit... a new site of mine (EMD also) with 4 pages of content has kept its rankings! WTF?!?

Is it possible google will re-rank my KWs with a new update?! GAH!

This is still confusing me why the main emd anchor is ranking at #12 now in google but all other keywords it has vanished for!

    Anyone have any input?

You're not the only one - EMD and good, authority non-EMD sites have vanished and now you see plenty of youtube videos ranking right there on top for pretty much everything, what a surprise....

thanks but that's what's confusing me. The exact end text keyword is still at #12 but all related keywords have vanished...

keep building quality links. Google will never punish a website only because it's EMD. Now you don't have any advantage that you own an EMD, and you have to work as much as the others

One of my EMD's shows the same behavior regarding serps. The exact-match Keyword dropped from #2 to #3, but all other Keywords (17) dropped from 1st Page out of TOP1000.

That makes me believe that the Penguin refresh from friday caused this, .nd not the EMD-devalue, because it would make no sense that my emd keyword still ranks and all the others not, furthermore the site is really under-optimized regarding content and anchor-variety. Other sites of mine with a in my opinion much more spammy link profile have not changed-

Google is trying to monetize as many keyword queries they have. Displaying loosely relevant organic search listings is how Google makes paid ads more appealing. As time has progressed, even more organic search terms have been pushed beneath the fold. Exact match domains, which arguably are highly relevant for their related search queries, posed a threat to Google's profits and have been largely eliminated. This competition between the webmaster and Google shall continue to escalate in the coming months as we approach the holiday shopping season. Good luck

I paid 15,000$ for one word emd.
    perfect domain.

    everything was 100% unique.

    Design perfect.

Had the website up for 3 months only, and now all gone.

I was working on wikipedia backlinks, and only high quality stuff.

    This is fucking ridiculous.

    I better roll a blunt

Do google ever do roll-backs or semi-roll-backs?

I can see a lot of 'legit' bricks and mortar businesses being hit hard by this silly update also...

Rollbacks do rarely happen, but Google will not publicly disclose this.

As far as businesses being hurt by this, quite frankly Google does not care. The changes Google has made will bolster their paid ads in time for the holiday shopping season. Yes, there will be a lot of carnage, but those that hold stock in Google will be happy. That is, unless the FTC and/or EU take legal action against Google.
