Hey guys, hours a go I got seriously slapped hard for having an EMD site. It was high quality, 25+ articles, PR2, branded etc. Anyways my income will be dropping like a stone so instead of bitching I want to try a possible solution. Please provide any suggestions on the theory I lay out. I'd love to hear your opinions since you guys are smarter than me. I was thinking of...

    1 - clone emd site
2 - acquire new domain (not emd lol) with lengthy registration
    3 - build new site
4 - 301 redirect emd site to new site

It's just a theory, but do you think this will work? thank you

The penalty will eventually leak through to your new non-emd domain.

Theoretically, your original solution looks ok, except for the cloning part. That would be way too easy to cross-reference. I would harbor a guess that you're kinda SOL if you really are getting hit by an EMD penalty. I would maybe guess that you could kill all content on original site, then 301 to new site, but without the same content, then when the cache of the original is no longer showing, re-up your content. However, I have no idea how long G holds on to un-cached content.... so it's a gamble.

yes you are right, i was thinking the same thing.. the cloned content would be an issue because of the same content. sucks lol because the content is the meat and potatoes! maybe if i strip the new site of all cloned content and then reintroduce it only AFTER the cache of old content clears. seems logical

Even if this does work, are you really going to build your house out of glass and wait for another 0.6% update from Google to break your house down, again!?

How about waiting a few days/weeks to know what works? Both of my two main site are lost. Just waiting to know my next strategy.

1 thing is for certain. google provided me an economy and means to feed my family. they are now trying to take away this very means with this update. i branded my emd and the site was an awesome source of info for it's readers. google has now indirectly hurt my competition because i am now going to send 5+ sites to the first page of my main keyword. i know how to do it and it will happen. i must protect myself from the evil monster:)

yeah, i will use this system and also build 5+ more sites for my main keyword. they can keep taking me down but i'll spring up like weeds. i just won't be using emd's anymore and continue with great content and backlinking.

I don't believe you got slapped for EMD, it must be something else. I'm ranking well.

Low quality EMD'S with lack of information to search users will get a hit probably...

If this update works like the others, then only high quality EMDs will get penalized.

I think rewrite your existing content, x2 if you can, and launch two non-EMD sites going for the same keywords.

Start to add some unique content man. why you are going for new site? Just pump up some fresh contents to old site and it will be back to the game.

OP is missing half the picture. Your site didn't get hit because it was an EMD. Your site got hit because it was an EMD with LOW QUALITY content! I know you don't think that but Google does and that's more important than what you think/believe because it's their search engine and search algorithm. And they think your site has low quality content and is just ranking because of EMD so they slapped it.
