let's say you are trying to rank for "wedding planner los angeles"
if you get the domain PlannerWeddingLosAngeles.com will that confuse the search engines? or that's just as good as WeddingPlannerLosAngeles.com?

It's an RMD(Reverse Match Domain) and no, it won't work as good as the EMD. Google will automatically rephrase the query and show the results for Wedding Planner Los Angeles. EMD's generally have Google's suggested keywords and if there is enough search volume for "planner wedding los angeles", you can continue with that RMD.
