    Hi there,

Is there a way to embed the html link in the Youtube video? I know how to place it into a description, I know how to place it inside the channel using branding options, but I wonder if there's a way to incorporate it in video itself, so that a person can click on it and go to my website?

    Cheers
    :)

Try to post this question at Yahoo answers, you might be able to get your question answered, Or do a search for it online...

I dont think thats possible as of right now- but you can use annotations on youtube- this a live link onyour video but it does not let you leave the domain youtube.com so you can link to other videos or a channel etc..

Can you share how you place the link inside the channel using branding options?

Also, is embedding the HTML link in the description as straightforward as it sounds, or does YT limit that, meaning you have to work around it?

Im about to jump into marketing on YT, so I appreciate the answers.

    Thanks alot.

You can put a link in the description quite easily.
To get better exposure, put it first.

Ex. http:/example.com/mysalessite is the best site to buy my proven system.

You just type it in... Youtube (for now) just converts the fully formed address into an active link.

Follow that with tags that are relevant, and maybe a couple copied from some high viewed vids too.

It's pretty straightforward. Just don't forget to add http to make it a live link

Seems impossible to do now. But in 20 years, it will be a piece of cake.

YouTube does not allow links to outside websites.
The "annotations" can take you from a video to another video or channel within YouTube.
But YouTube does not want traffic leaks.

Outside of YouTube a live link in a video is possible in Flash.
Very easy to do in Camtasia.
I've tried that a dozen different ways submitting to YouTube and they defeat it every time.

I agree,,, it would be a moneymaker.

Ya that would be unbelievable if possible.

The thing is if someone ever figures it out, they probably are not going to be sharing it :p

IC. You can ad the link to video if you embed it, but not while its on your Youtube site. Thank you for the info.

    Cheers

Could anyone care to explain how that person did that with that video, even if it only works when you embed the video.

Edit: Nevermind, I tried to embed that video into a different site and the link didn't come up.

Hi guys, I see we're all asking the same question on what would be a great marketing idea if it existed, "Clickable Video" right? Well it does exist and it's done by a company called Overlay.TV I contacted them and inquired about using this Clickable Video technology, and they told me, 'while it did attract a lot of marketers it wasn't the direction they wanted to go with their business, however if you want to talk some more our packages start at $5000.' I said "WHAAAT!!!" End of story. So if you want to follow it up for your selves here's the link: http://www.overlay.tv/
