Email tracking?

Hey!

Not sure if this is the right section in first place...

I am looking for a way to be able to track the emails that have been opened/read by recipients. Not using Gmail. So don't think chrome plugins will work.

Is there any free way to do it? Maybe a script or something? Or a site that offers the service completely free?

Would appreciate any help here.

email marketing sites like aweber and getresponse offer tracking facility for free!
they however charge for their email service !
