Hi

Im a bit new to email marketing and have been having issues with using Mailchimp and getting my emails to directly to the inbox to a gmail account. Most of the time it gets flagged and into the promotions folder. After I craft an email I need to spend 30-40min changing the subject or deleting some text in the email to finally get it directly to into the inbox. (this is only to gmail accounts)

My emails are as basic as it gets, 100 words or less and a tiny logo or two. Sometimes ill include a clickable link. I do send from a gmail account and not a verified domain email through Mailchimp. Could that be the issue?

This is ridiculous to be honest. I have gotten more promotional emails personally with a lot more graphics tied to it in my inbox. Does anyone have any insight to this?

Stay careful with MailChimp. They will tolerate spam emails.

What do you mean?
I think he meant to say that they wont allow spam reports. And when you said your emails are going to promotion tab its gmail bots who decide based on your content if your content matches to promotion like they push to promotion tab.

Hire writer get email template different version try yourself then send out.

Good luck :)

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with getting your emails delivered directly to Gmail inboxes using Mailchimp. Gmail's algorithm considers many factors when deciding where to place an email, including the sender's reputation, the email's content and formatting, and the recipient's engagement history.

It's possible that your emails are being flagged as promotional because they're being sent from a Gmail account rather than a verified domain email through Mailchimp. Using a verified domain email can help establish your sender reputation and increase your chances of getting your emails delivered to the inbox.

Additionally, there are a few best practices you can follow to increase the chances of your emails landing in the inbox, such as avoiding spam trigger words and phrases, using a clear and concise subject line, and providing valuable content that encourages engagement.

It's also important to note that while you may have received promotional emails with more graphics in your inbox, there could be other factors at play, such as the sender's reputation and engagement rates.

I would recommend reaching out to Mailchimp's support team for further assistance. They may be able to provide more specific advice and recommendations for improving your email deliverability. Good luck!

Ok thank you

From memory - mailchimp have one of the worst spam inbox rates and things like promotions inbox in gmail. Might be worth exploring others.

This.

Mailchimp is garbage. The segmenting sucks, the automated flows suck, spam sucks.

If your just getting started use something like klaviyo or an alternative.

So you think I will have better results with Klaviyo?

I have now just verified my domain and still going to spam in gmail. This is ridiculous that I have to spend an hour after crafting an email to troubleshoot and chop it down. This particular email is only 90 words with 2 thumbnail size images and 1 clickable link.

Please tell me email marketing is easier then this? lol
