My average open rate is between 25 to 30 percent. My average click rate is between 2 to 3 percent.
This is in the stock trading and investing niche.
Are my numbers relatively acceptable or not?

What are your average open rate and click rate in your email marketing? Please mention your niche, too.

Is your list small? I only get open rates like that with smaller lists. Huge lists I'm lucky to get like 5% open rate even with super spammy subject lines.

There are so many factors that affect open rate and CTR that giving you an average would be useless. And also, niche doesn't matter at all. I achieve 20% CTR on some segments and lower than that on some others across a variety of niches. What kind of emails are we talking about? What kind of leads? Warm/cold? In which lifecycle stage are those leads currently? (the most important thing that can make or break your campaign). I achieve insanely high CTR rates but I don't batch and blast like 99% of people blindly do.

Are you generating your own leads and sending them to a capture page? If so, I'd turn off double optin for sure.

Last time I used Getresponse and was able to import one of my larger lists, I was getting on average 10,000 opens and 2,000 clicks on a list size of just over 100,000.

Open rates and click rates depends a lot on the size of the list and its age

2% cr is very low if you have below 1000 list. It is decent if you have a 100000 list.

Also the cr decreases as your list ages most of the time.

Hi, @jgeeked. I have an optin form on my website. They register themselves. Then, they confirm their registration on their own. That's how I get my leads.

It looks like your open rate plays between 10-15% and your click rate is somewhere near 2%.

Hi, @mak3r. May I know the rationale behind it? Is it because the smaller your list is, the more focused you should be with them? The more focus you have for them, the higher the click rate should be? Or maybe I'm missing something? I'm willing to listen.

As you all have experience with email marketing can anyone here recommend me from experience a good SMTP server, my VPS is bitching about mass email so I need to invest in that.

It for 5-10 websites that all have their own email on one IP, what you recommend low cost/good quality wise?

    Cheers

I use the conventional ESP-s (Email Service Providers), because all my leads are double option and there are no hassles with servers, IP-s and all of that if going this route.

I get a high CTR, BUT I also don't send ads/offers but 1 out of 10-15 emails, otherwise it is content, tips, guide, links to posts, so my list is used to not getting ads, so I generally get a good CTR when I do, especially if I've been pregaming the release of the ad, like hyping it as a discount for them, or an updated release, or great earnings for me... When I take the time to do that, my CTR is great and my conversions increase as well.

    I am in "make me rich/forex/real estate/stocks/etc..."
