Come home from College, try to logged into my email but instead of logging in im greeted by a "You're Account have been block". I go through the verification, eventually get into my account to find there's a registered email that isn't mine and some random asian writing in the security question. Now i have no idea how long its been on there but im guessing its only today which is why they locked my account. I was logged into my email at College so i know its only happened within the last few hours.

Is there anyway i can find out who the email belongs to? smgzs8@yahoo.cn
Is there anything i should be doing? Changed a few important passwords. Have a few emails on the account but nothing that id regard as important.

Tracing back an email is difficult in this case. You are probably not in law enforcement. :p

    What you should be doing:
    1. Don't log in to anything sensitive while on a untrusted network.

    2. Change your password regularly, it should be at least 12 characters long, non dictionary. A simple way to get such a thing is taking a sentence that is easy to remember and using the first letter in each word, add some special characters if possible.

    3. The information in your security questions should be fictional, that way social engineering gets a few hiccups.

    4. Report this hack attempt to your email provider, they are better suited to track and prevent.

    5. Check the outbox of your account. If you are lucky those are not deleted and can give you a better insight.

    6. If you used your own computer while using the college network, scan it...

That is from the top of my head. Hope it helps but feel free to ignore if it doesn't. :) I couldn't do anything with the addy, did check.

A more in depth research seems to indicate this is a hacker with a gaming addiction, seems banned and not very active on this account, Grayham hacking popped up, and a studio in Shanghai.
It is a .com too though I doubt it is the same one that got to you.

I doubt you will get anything useful from pursuing this. :(

On a side note: His email pops up as first result to this thread. :D
