    Hi All,

New to site and first post as i'm in need of help or direction in regards to a query I was recently asked. A friend has a company and is getting a fair sized subscriber list that he would like to email newletters, surveys etc. Instead of going with a 3rd party he'd like an in house solution where he can generate campaign lists from his database, send the campaign via [*need help with this*] and then record the results back in the DB.

Does anyone know of a good application or setup for running email campaigns and getting good, useable data back afterwards that can be manipulate back in to a SQL DB (e.g. marking a record as bounced for example

    Many Thanks

    OC

    Oc1234,

Have you looked into constant contact or icontact? Those are a couple of mainstream email providers that give good metrics as far as open rates, bounce rates, click throughs etc. They also make it really easy to manage a contact database.

Of course if you are looking for something else here is a pretty comprehensive list,

Make sure to have a look at aweber, constantcontact and MailChimp. They are the popular ones and generally provide the most reliable email marketing services.

You also need a solution to get past the spam filters. The email providers mentioned above have methods to get a high inbox rate and you should consider that too.
