Hey fellow Blackhatters! Long time Lurker here at blackhatworld! I have decided to make a move and dip my feet into the world of online marketing! I'm 26 years old and currently a manager at a local fast food establishment. My Goal is to develop skills associated with online marketing with little to no prior knowledge, and hopefully use those skills to be able to quit my job! I would need to make a minimum of about $1,600 per month to be able to make this happen. I do have a little bit of start up money, but I dont want to get discouraged investing it and seeing no return.

After doing some brainstorming, I have found a decent evergreen niche that has been around for quite some time and is used around the world. It also just so happens that it is something that I am passionate about. Upon doing some research, there are a couple major retailers and also amazon that are selling the products I plan on reviewing. I am still trying to decide which affiliate route I would like to take. Shareasale is offering 4% commission along with 30-45 day cookies as opposed to amazon, which I believe is also 4% but only 24 hour cookies (correct me if i am wrong). Due to how amazing everybody is saying amazon is, I feel as if this will be the best option starting out. I have also thought about if I should try churn and burn methods using CPA after reading basstrackerboats thread, but this method doesn't seem as "stable".

Thanks to meathead1234's sticky "Easy 100$ A Day - perfect for noobs" I am on track with how I want to pursue the webpage but I am still working on details. With my niche there are a handful of different manufacturers with a large variety of my product to suit just about everybody's "style". This seems almost like a problem as there are so many different products, I am unsure if I should do a wordpress style, or a forum style webpage. Upon further thought, Instead of getting too far ahead of myself, maybe doing 5 product reviews per manufacturer is a better route.

My agenda for the days to come.
    1: Webpage
A: Figure out an appropriate domain name and hosting (possibly purchase existing domain)
B: Develop a basic wordpress theme and layout the base of the site
C: Begin writing 5 to 15 reviews for the different products per day

2: Research adding social media to the campaign to promote traffic
A: Research and purchase 3-5 proxies or VPNs and create accounts associated to those addresses, Looking into facebook and twitter, Possibly pinterest?
B: Research Automating the growth of said accounts
C: Use social media accounts to direct traffic to website (unsure of what extent to do this to)

3: Look into SEO strategies for young webpages/review blogs.

I'd appreciate any input all of you have and look forward to seeing your responses. Thank you for your time and wealth of knowledge here on BlackHatWorld!!!

Today I have been looking into keywords to try and come up with the best exact match domain associated with my niche review site. I am also looking into themes that can be used as a review blog. So much research to do but I am enjoying myself while doing it!

Are you going to use meathead1234's method solely or focus on SEO as well? Do you have any goals with this journey or is it just to get your feet wet and get a feel of everything?

Best of luck with your journey,
    hekke

If you intend to do many articles, I would go with wordpress over a static website. It will be MUCH easier to manage, and ontop of that, you will be able to find plenty of plugins to help you for SEO. Meathead's method is good, but overtime you will want to work on SEO. Look at meatheads method as the short game, and then SEO as the long game. Social Media will be good for social signals, depending on your niche, I wouldn't rely on any sort of converting traffic from there.

Check out my sig and the expired domains I offer, if there is one within your niche get in touch and I'll flick it to you for free. I'd be happy to give you a quick boost because it sounds like you're on the right track.

Thanks, I didn't see my niche on your page but I appreciate the thought and may look to it if I decide on a different niche or project!

I will be researching and using SEO after I get some content up. Still fumbling around with different domain ideas. The more and more I go into reviews I realize how much specialization and expertise can go into somebody selecting a product best for them. Kind of makes the review side a bit daunting. I will have to try some different strategies to figure out what is converting.

As to current goals, I'd like to get my feet wet and see that it really can be done. It would be AWESOME if I could make enough income to quit my current job. I wouldn't ever have to work those unfortunate overnight hours again and could essentially make my own schedule!

Figured out a domain name and selected bluehost for my hosting needs. Went with the "optimized wordpress, blogger level" package. I am now looking into investing in a theme. I've heard of a theme called covert store builder. Still kind of unsure if its the best route. Tomorrow I will be browsing some themes on themeforest to start with.

If anybody has any input as to which theme would be good for a newbie with neat features I would appreciate it. Looking for something optimized for phones/tablets/pc. Social media commenting I hear is also a bonus. If there is anything else I should be looking for when selecting a theme I'm open ears!

    Thanks blackhatworld!

I would search "Free Bootstrap Themes". Bootstrap is mobile friendly (Completely responsive actually), and it's easy for you to tweak when you want as well. For this first site, I wouldn't worry too much about paying for a theme, any old thing will do.

1: No emd, go with something niche related and catchy. If you where selling shoes, maybe shoesmith.***, shoeking.***. Personally, I like to use names because they stick better in comments. (example mrclean.***)

    2. I spent 6 months learning css, html, php before I figured out what SEO even was. It was useful but not essential. Because, you can learn as you go. With wordpress as your CMS , there is litterly a plugin for everything you want to do. Saves so much time for other tasks such as writing reviews. So I would suggest using wordpress for your first site. Then when your more comfortable playing with things, then proceed to html themes.

    3. This being your first site, think about layout before you starting writing posts. Get a scratch paper out and imagine how you would like your site to look structure wise. Its a pain in the ass after you have 10+ posts indexed in google restructuring the site. (there are plugins in wordpress for this :D)

    4. Try do to everything you can before you start spending money on VPNS, premiums this, proxies that. You can do most of what you want for free with out all that crap. You start investing in all this crap before you really know what your doing and your out shit loads of money for nothing. learning the "whitehat" way to do this first is essential. It makes your automated tasks alot more believable/ legit when you know the ins and outs of the platforms.

When i was 26 I was a fast food manager and I chose army instead of seo/computers/college. I understand your desire to what to better yourself. Ill make you a deal if your legit and you stick with it I will give you free hosting off my reseller account. This real deal hosting: Cpanel, lightspeed server, ssd drive fast as hell my friend. But the only stipulation is you have to update this thread at least once every month with progress. You dont update once a month Ill send you an email that says to get off your ass and get to work. You dont update in 2 months, Ill send another email that says get off your ass and get to work. At 3 months Ill cancel your hosting.

Been so busy with writing up reviews for each of the most recent products in my niche and also studying for my CCNA, I didn't post an update yesterday. I expect to be done writing about 50% of my product reviews this week. Although I did some digging, and quickly realized the first page of my niche was fairly flooded with some decent SEO with TONS of authority. I plan to finish the website, and possibly start on a different niche. This is all more of a case study for me and I just simply hope to learn a lot.

I appreciate your offer about hosting and the extra kick in the behind, although being single, still living in grandma's basement is all the motivation I need right now! I might take you up on your offer if I decide this is the webpage I want to proceed with and feel like it is work to be proud of. As it looks now, it seems like a poor choice short term and as a first site, being the top keyword is super competitive.. I may need to look farther into my products and possibly do a topic smaller than my broader niche. Ive been slowly looking into the keywords as you can tell, possibly not targeting the right ones. It seems that a lot of the seo side is somewhat self taught and a lot of it is secretive, where only the people who have been doing it for a long time know the in's and out's of the research and results. It's one of those ever changing things where there is no definitive answer. Ill be looking for some tools to help research a bit better to get a better grasp on it and my keywords.

    Cheers,
Off to read a few chapters and do some labs for CCNA. Also going to look more into articles and continuing writing more product reviews tonight and into tomorrow.

    buying terms:

    best + product + reviews
    and all variations of above.

My first site, I target thous ugly ass shoes skeletoes. Bought an emd and ranked that bitch above fila. Sold one pair of shoes in an entire year because I didnt target a buying word. I figured traffic = sales. Well, it doesn't. Targeted traffic = sales.

I was able to turn sales around though on the site, because of this valuable lesson im gonna share with you. Solve their problems. With thous shoes, people where not wearing socks.(regular socks dont work with toe shoes) So naturally they had an odor problem. I targeted peoples problems for that by selling them toed socks. I made some decent money from selling a crap load of socks off amazon. Amazon converts very well, I strongly suggest it for your first site. But its your journey, so in the end its your decision.

You said this was an niche that you where actually passionate about. So think of all the bullshit problems about your niche and start bouncing some keywords on planner and check traffic for them. If you can solve their problems while making a buck than thats win win for everyone.

If your targeting meatheads, SEO jacking method then your not really worrying about competition. In fact competition will only help you, because you can post on thous peoples blogs. Personally, I only post to get link diversity, authority and brand awareness.

If/when you start backlinking your site. Start with the easy shit. You will stay focused as you see the traffic/sales come in. It takes experience and knowledge to build links for months before you hit the first page. I mean imagine it, not knowing if your doing shit correctly the entire time. Probably end up getting frustrated and quieting along the way. Then what? I will have less reading material for my down time.

When you are ready for hosting lemme know, Ill kick you down an hosting account. Im sure youll have PM by then. Good luck bro.

That sock scenario really hit me, I now know a few products I can promote and also some articles that relate to my niche very well! Awesome, I appreciate your help!

I think when I was doing some keyword research I was focusing more so on the major retailer keywords rather than some review type words. Ill be looking to that a bit more and I truly believe that the other "affiliate review" sites are poorly set up and that I can bring something unique to the table in terms of actually helping people selecting a product. Eventually I'd like to associate videos with each review, but to me it seems like to get the product for each video and find somebody willing to promote it would be some major overhead. The product I'm reviewing goes anywhere from 50-300$ USD.

Down the road I could see that this could be a major website for people to visit not only for reviews, but also tips and tricks associated to the niche. All the websites I have been looking are awful, and I'm shocked.
