I mean, i'm chuffed that ehow authors have been reading my site and felt it was good enough to use as a reference. I have references from about 3 authors. So thats 3 ehow links out of a total of about 2000 links to my site.

Is this something i can brag about or is this bound to happen and happens on most peoples sites??

That happens to me all the time from my sites.. to be fair though I don't write any content as I outsource it to several writers, one of which is a respected member here, Ramsweb.

I think it is rather rare actually and if you are writing your own stuff, as they say down in the south in America, "Good on ya'".

Could add some traffic and/or authority to your site. Couldn't hurt. :)

It happens to me. I think the deal is they want to make themselves like wikipedia. I get backlinks from wikipedia too ..

Wikipedia has to reference real material from credible sources, they don't allow self-study. So what happens is a wikipedia author makes a page and then they realize they need to have references or it'll get shot down, so they go to google and search for the keywords in their article. They take the best looking couple of pages from the top results and use them for references.

Same thing with ehow I think ... once you actually rank top 5 on decent keywords you'll notice you get ehow and sometimes even wikipedia backlinks just because they have to reference their research.
