Effects of linkwheel!

I have now network of small niche sites ready and thinking about best ways to ramp them up in serps.

So I'm going to create such an linkwheel for each of it.
8 properties each with unique article but not about the keyword my site is but something really similar cos i dont want that those web2.0 sites starts competing with my main site!
I'm not going to link those 8sites together in an actual linkwheel just they will be an site with 1article and linked to my site but for each property im going to add 10backlinks High-PR from ******** blog comenting..

So tell me is this plan better then the traditional linkwheel or not? and seriously whats the point of linking all those spikes together when I'm going to ping and social bookmark each of the spike anyways...

Maybe anyone can share their success story if you got one about linkwheels and rankings?

I think it's silly to worry about the other web 2.0 properties competing with your money sites. If those properties are set up correctly, they should funnel people toward the money site. Each one links to the money site, as well as to another on the chain.

You are not creating a linkwheel from what you have described. You are just doing a pyramid.

The reason for linking them together is it enforces them on a particular KW. linkwheel serves to drive traffic to your main offer, and rank for specific kw's.

my goal isnt to drive traffic to any other site then the mine one but only to help rank my main site.

So your only goal is to take traffic which comes from first page search results from your primary site? Kind of a waste of time and effort IMO, but knock yourself out.

As long as you don't link your wheel together in a completed circle you should be fine. Just link each property to two other properties and your main website and then bookmark each linkwheel property. Their rankings will increase and they will boost up your main sites rankings.

Don't try to just rank your money site. You'll be giving up a lot of traffic like that. All of your properties can rank well and each one will drive traffic to your main site. What made the link wheel such a big hit was the fact that you can own the entire page 1 on Google.
