Are contextual and forum profile .edu links passing more juice than normal links? And is it ok to use profile links in my 1st tier? Also what do you recommend to be the ratio of .edu links and other links? I'm just starting my seo campaign so bare with me if I'm asking noob questions.

I have some websites with low competition which I want to rank. I'll continue build links until I rank #1 but I believe it won't take much time.

No, I mean that main keyword has around 6k monthly searches and 2 secondary keywords have 4k and 3k searches. Top sites have between 500-1000 backlinks and there are some YT videos. This is only for the first niche. The others are with similar competition, there are some competitors with more backlinks but they are heavy spam and I think it'll be easy to out rank them with quality links.

Normal links from big sites with HIGH PR are more effective if your niche is less competitive... You can consult several marketers on this & you will finally reach this concept result...

Having good quality edu link will give your sites more benefit about ranking on google, yes,in most case,it's better than regular backlink. And it is better if you can grab gov backlinks as well, because they all authority backlink and will help your ranking a lot

My rule for backlinks is this.
High traffic domains that are hard to get backlinks = quality backlinks.
Medium traffic domains that are hard to get backlinks = quality backlinks.
High traffic domains but easy to get backlinks = good backlinks.
Medium traffic domains but easy to get backlinks = good backlinks.
Low traffic domains with easy to get backlinks = bad backlinks.

So I don't have any edu or gov or com preference.

EDU backlinks have some benefits but you need to have low OBL for an edu backlink.
