    you must find a footprint

and then do site:.edu or site.gov + footprint

a foot print could be like "site:.edu inurl:user/register?destination=home"

    use your head

    good luck

I relly am sick that any idiot can reduce your rep on this site, so who cares about it, but here is a good tip that works with most edu sites and gives you backlink with tremendeous authority: you can use scraper for this or search it yourself

    site:.edu leave a reply

write a comment that makes sense and doesnt look as promotion at all, use your site in the website info and use a name(NOT KEYWORD!) use name like: John Fitch or somethig like that

Just write clean and short comment, you will use other sources for keyword backlinks but dont even try to spam .edu website, trust me they have plenty of experience to detect and remove you, but if you do this you will get huge authority that will help you alot along with backlinks with keywords from other sources it simply gives you results.

use .edu backlinks for authority, nothing else.

There is nothing in the Google algorithm that says "oh, give .edu more weight". You can have an useless .edu link just like you can have a great .com link.

    Ref: Matt Cutts interview
    Code:
    [URL]http://www.stephanspencer.com/search-engines/matt-cutts-interview[/URL]

Just something to chew on. You should just shoot for high PR (3 - 4+), imo. Looking for .gov/.edu seem more and more like a waste of time and may cost you a search penalty.

I agree with not using keywords but using your real name when commenting on .gov and .edu. Its the backlink that is worth not the anchor text.

    I have used he affilorama.
Affilorama has alot of super super good tools for SEO. I think they have a 7 day trial for a dollar going on right now.
    Check it out.
I haven't had much time to check out everything there is to offer. But its a focus on smaller mini blogs to promote CB stuff.

I don't mess with .gov sites, you don't know who may get angry and come after you for a "hacking" a governmental site, most of them get hacket all the time and are watched
