You know i really really hate converting video files....it's soooo boring imo. reminds me of the days before mp3s were common place.....you know the days where you'd have to do everything manually... a program to rip the CD, a program to convert the file to mp3... a program to remove the clicks. a program to improve the sound....And then if you wanted to make a CD from a bunch of mp3s...that took more time out of your day....

Anyways, now that flv is the 'new' video media of the day, i keep my eye out for more advanced software to automate editing flv files w/out converting.

I'm surprised there's nothing out there that can do this on a PC...seriously, how long has youtube been around?

the first thing i found was moyea flv plug in for premier...but can't find the serial...and yeah, i could buy the plug-in....maybe one day... *cough cough*

i know that i could use photobucket and all...but it wasn't my cup of tea

anyways, i found something that has promise, and i didn't see a mention of it here...so i thought i'd share. If it's been mentioned, or this is old news...then oh well...sorry for being redundant.

here's a how to video

Basically its a tool you can run on your system that will let you manipulate flv videos....it's in beta, can be a bit buggy, but ... like i said... has promise.

who knows, maybe adobe and microsoft will get the hint and create their own app....or buy this one, add a fancy skin, and rebrand it for their own...

hope you find this useful! happy tubing!

If you just want to cut an FLV here, here's another tool:

I'm curious, how will adding cue points help do anything to a video if you upload it to youtube again? Aren't cue points like actions launched once the video reaches that time?

you know, i'm still playing with it....

but from what i can tell i think it cuts the video...still new to me

here's another article about it i pulled up

But man on a side note, i'd LOVE to get my hands on FLV importer for Premier by Moyea....i might have to just shell out 60 bucks for the plug in...but i know the second i pay for it, i'll find a hack, crack, or somebody will offer it as a share, and then i'll pull my hair out in frustration.

Right now im using Moyea Flv to Video for watermarking and making youtube videos. Don't remember if I'm still using trial or if I found it crac*ked.
Code:
flvsoft.com/flv_to_video/

Heres some of the features they list.
* Import FLV by various codecs, particularly On2 VP6, Nellymoser, etc.
* Output a wide range of conventional video formats with best output quality
* Add logos or text as watermark for the generated video files
* Choose output video's framerate, bitrate, size & audio's frequency
* Crop & trim the video into a desired area and size
* Offer a settings profile for conversion
* Auto-rename, overwrite or skip output file if necessary
* Access source FLV details for reference when setting parameters
* All the settings are based on batch mode conversion
* Preview the FLV in the Open dialog while importing
* User-friendly interface

Pretty good cause you just dl the flv from youtube and edit with that.

if you just want to watermark flv files to flv without converting to another format first, you can use super video converter, it's free.

Most only focus on youtube.:(
Next,,,,,,, while it's downloading it converts the video into any format you want to work with
and there's close to a dozen different ones.
The video is downloaded and converted in seconds.
