I was wondering what would happen to this whole affiliate marketing business if more banks close, economy goes downhill and some sort of recession happens.
Im thinking it would affect us all pretty bad if people stop buying things, what are some of you doing to prepare in case something happens?

im a total financial newbie, so thats why im asking :)

I think people that loose their offline jobs will come online trying to make money so I suppose will be a good moment to start selling money making tutorials , opportunities and ways to earn online :)

There's never an absolute recession. It's just that the big flow of money slows down or stops. There's never a slowdown in the flow/exchange of small money that people HAVE to spend to live.

I've thought about that. One thing I'm doing is diving head first into learning C#. I figure I can use it to create custom programs for myself. Maybe create for others in time. Develop applications for small businesses in my local area. I've already done this with Filemaker; and word of mouth helps to drum up business to other small business owners of what you've done for them.

Since my son of 11 has taken an interest in what I do, I've pushed him towards programming and software development.

I'd be interested in hearing what other people are doing as a "Plan B".

We win, that's what happens. At least the ones who have talent. As less and less money is earned by the consumer base, and therefore spent at the retail level, companies will become more and more desperate for the talent and skill required to get what little money people are going to spend.

More skill + bad times = more $$$, not less.

If you don't have the skills and mindset to market.... better learn to farm.
