    Hey guys.

I am relaunching my eCommerce store and I was wondering what are your opinions of OpenCart. I have less than 50 products and I think that's good for OpenCart. I've read that for large stores they're quite shit. Don't recommend me Wordpress.

Also, I'm doing a photoshoot with models for my products (clothes) does anyone have any ideas of what exactly I'll need?

So far I've got the list to:
    • Models
    • Photographer
    • Studio
    • Clothes
    • Makeup artist
    • Stylist
    • Food (it's a whole day photoshoot)

I've Googled it but I don't want to miss anything and I'm betting quite a few of you have experience.

    Thanks everyone!

Looks like you got it covered pretty much but I'd change studio for location unless you've got post-production in mind, if not your images will all look very much the same.

opencart is a great bit of software BUT be aware that you need to make it secure because as it is out of the box so to speak, it isn't! Change your admin location, write a better .htaccess to prevent any script exploits and above all customise it to fit your needs, don't just use it out of the box because it leaves many footprints which are easy to spot in your SE listings.

Other than that, it has many features that any good shop keeper would want, I use it myself for custom products with a few alterations I have split payments, deposit ability, total customisation for my customers to make the product exactly what they want. It's a good backend for small to medium businesses.

I'm sure there is more but I'll leave that for those who are more familiar with the various issues it presents.

Wow. Thanks for all the great information.

No, I want the studio location. I'll try to make it as secure as possible. I'm not really good with that stuff so I'll tell the person building the website.

Good, good. OpenCart it is for me. I've tested it out but I just wanted to be sure

    Thanks :D

There's magento then there's everything else....

While you're at it, have your photographer take pictures of the models without showing logos on clothes and then sell those pictures on stock photography sites. You need a signed release from each model if you do this.

Hmmmm, interesting. But my photoshoot is a branding thing and I want them to be exclusive to my brand. Thanks though!
