Hi guys,

does anyone of you have a ecommerce shop and use the included blog to drive additional traffic to your shop?

I read always about Journeys which use FB Ads to drive traffic their shops.

But I never read about shops which use inbuild blog for "How to articles".

Mostly the affilate sites use this kind of content.

IMO, there's lots of reasons to have a blog on your e-commerce store.

-presents yourself as an expert in your niche
-boosts credibility/trust
-boosts relevance and authority to product pages, where it's hard to obtain natural looking links.
(Most good guest posts won't link directly to your product page)
-informational articles can score you natural links
-allows you to target relevant search terms not directly related to your products
-increases dwell time
-traffic

Unless I'm misunderstanding your question?

Blog is always a Good idea to drive traffic. It has its own SEO factor.
You can use PPC, Affiliate but blogging is something different than those things.

I do it diferently. I have a site to sell products and a blog on anoher domain. So there are 2 domains- 1 to list all my products and 1 for the blog. The reason for having a blog on it's own domain is this- it's not easier to get influencers share my blog posts when it's on a content site. I then redirect traffic using text links and some of them emails. yes, I build a list using my blog. Not sure about others, but this setup works for me.

Actually the blog section is a great way to drive organic traffic to your site. If you have built a brand and has an ecommerce module on your site, then the brand would have some form of authority, and hence the authority would be transferred to the blog section respectively - just do not create blog.myshop.com , but myshop.com/blog would be better.
And with authority, the blog section's articles would have better ranking potential in the process, and when you install an exit intent popup (if you are using WP), that would help channel the organic traffic as sales.

i would say the key thing with any blog is consistent useful content creation. You don't want to be too sporadic at the start.

You should definitely setup your blog page. It will definitely help in driving in more traffic to your website. Establish your credibility through that. You should also consider email marketing.

Why can't you promote your eBay store? If done properly it can be a goldmine
