Don't they share copyrighted ebooks? Wouldn't want to be the buyer when the DMCA complaints start rolling in.

I doubt that sale will actually go through. From the listing going up to the BIN being made, there was only 5 days. No-one can do due diligence on a site that big in that much of a short period.

Good luck to the buyer if it does go through, but paying a 3x yearly multiple for a site that might have questionable content is a big risk.

Not even one comment. I doubt if the winning bidder would pay.

I been watching this sale also......looked great at first but if those books are copyrighted and the the site is providing them illegally then the buyer has taken a MASSIVE risk with this site... he is looking at around a 3 year return on investment...unless he has any other ideas on how to add additional revenue streams to the site and make as much bank as fast a possible with the 5 million monthly visitors... the site is currently monetized with ad networks ads and product sales...so the door is still open for the right sort of CPA offers... with 5 million monthly visitors the buyer could end up making a killing is figures how to monetize that traffic effectiviley

What happens if they do not pay?
Does the seller have the option of selling it to the next highest bidder?

There is actually a big buyer out at the moment who recently bought a large movie site and a large file sharing site, so I wonder if it's the same guy who bought this (if it did go through). From what I know, I don't think he would have paid anywhere near that multiple, though, so probably isn't him.

Anyone that has flipped sites on Flippa knows that selling a domain and getting paid are two different things. Hopefully the buyer does not back out so the seller can get his money.

I just saw this website back on the auction page about an hour ago.

I guess the sale did not go through?

It didn't go through, no. Pretty much as I thought.

Looks like the broker has also posted different financials from the previous auction, what a joke. I hope no-one buys it.

Damn that site is is being sold for 2 million? I guess the owner does not want to deal if a legal issue arise. According the the web site calculator, Ebookee is worth:

    Day: 4,964
    Month: $ 148,920
    Estimated Worth:
    $ 16,319,094
    According to worthofweb

10 bids and sold at 2 million. Pure bullshit. Money is not that cheap unless the buyer is the punk Zuckerberg.

That is getting to be a big problem at flippa. Guys will get multiple accounts or just get friends to bid just to run up the price and get them listed in the "most active" section.
