So I recently sold an item for $300 USD on ebay. After checking the buyers feedback, I noticed half of them are people saying he did nothing but ask tons of questions and then never paid. Now, it seems he is also doing this to me. He has been asking me to send him copies of the original pictures I took of the product to a different email and some other random stuff. His paypal name and address to not match up to his ebay name and address (hes in india) with a US address for his paypal account and a totally different name under the address.

I have a bad feeling about this guy trying to scam me or just not pay me all together. Now it's only been a day of not receiving payment, maybe I am being too paranoid?

I would feel a lot more comfortable giving a second chance offer to the bidder he lost too that has great feedback.

Any advice on what I should do with this?

I personally would not send him the item, I would relist it. I rather pay an extra fee then loose everything. It is good you did your homework, you looked into the details. Most people would not know to do this, but now you should follow through and do the logical thing

Thanks for the reply shaddelick! I agree with everything you said, I guess Its always best to trust your instinct when dealing with this sort of stuff. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't being overly paranoid for no reason. ;)

Although I am afraid he will leave bad feedback which sucks since I have always done my best to keep my 100% positive score. Oh well, It's better then to lose 300 dollars!

you can always offer second chance offer to the bidder that follows the line next to him since you think he will not pay you and waste your time

I've found that you're always best following your instincts and erring on the side of caution.

Plus... NEVER... EVER send an item to any place but the person's verified paypal address.

I don't care WHAT the reason is. Have them change the address in paypal or don't ship it.

You're just asking for trouble. I lost over $800 on a laptop due to this.

DONT SHIP! 95% its a scam. I usually block buyers who have unpaid item strikes and bad feedback. You can set those restrictions in your seller settings.

I also smell scam to... because it is from India.

I personally not confident to deal with India's people because been scam few time from that country.

by the way, base on your situation, there is some possible different address appear. Just share what I seem before. I buyer that would like to ship the item for other person, the address will be different.

But for your case, one India address and another US address is a bit ridiculous.

The difference in the paypal address and ebay address if because the paypal will be hacked. The hacker will pay for the item with the ebay item with the hacked paypal then get the ebay seller to ship to his ebay address on the ebay account, one of the most common scams. Stay away :).
