im selling virtual items (made listing look like physical goods) on ebay, i was doing it on an account created in 2006 and it was working fine but i used up my monthly allowance of sales so i created a new one, im not in the us so i had to get someone there to text confirm a new account and less than an hour after putting up the same item on my new account i got an email from ebay saying
[h=1]MC999 eBay account restriction[/h]Thank you for selling on eBay. After reviewing your eBay account, recent activity has raised serious security concerns. As a result, we've taken the following action on your account:
- Selling privileges have been temporarily restricted. You won't be able to list new items. You're also not allowed to register a new account.
- Any active or pending listings have been removed. A list of removed items is available further down in this email.
All associated fees have been credited.

We realize this may be inconvenient, but we need to take extra precautions when we find unusual or questionable activities on an account.
It's important that we speak with you about recent activity on your account.

To prevent your account from being closed, please contact us within the next 48 hours using this link:

It seems your accounts got linked and it triggered ebay's algo. You also was using VPN, right?

no i used the same paypal email as my original (didnt think it would need stealth) account cause i thought the listing would be okay since i sold more than a hundred on my original account without any bother, are you saying you cant sell the exact same items on accounts linked with the same paypal?

You can't sell virtual items on ebay...this is most likely the problem...

Pretty sure having multiple accounts violates ebay's TOS. If they find any links (physical address, IP address, PayPal address, etc.) they'll ban both accounts.

I was selling virtual items for quite a while on ebay then got found out. Luckily I have another account which I made sure to keep separate so it's not too bad but I've stopped selling virtual goods. I reckon a competitor reported me.

if i make a new account will ebay make me ring them again to confirm or is there a chance they will leave my account alone, the only reason im making a new one is because i have run out of free insertions on my original account so i need a new one for free listings
