You've probably read my other posts and you know I like media buying.

I paid $175 for a one day ad on ebaumsworld.com

Not only did they not provide me with proper tracking,
I received only 86 clicks to my ads and no conversion.

This is their "buy an ad" page:

I raised a dispute with paypal, for the full $175. I contacted the guy and told him I won't put up with his bullshit. and asked him for a $100 refund or I will escalate on paypal (and most likely win).

He said he will offer me back $50.

Anyways, tell me what to do. Should I escalate, or should I take the money, or should I insist on more?

I'm willing to lose that $175/take the $50 if it means, leaving my paypal account in good standing. I had to do 2 other disputes, I won 1, and the other one is still pending.

Take your money back. But also you must be very careful when you complete some orders they have hidden in TOS how much they will refund, my advice is to read the TOS first and see if you can escalade the dispute or take 50$.

You're right to want a refund. Sounds like your ad wasn't up for the full day. But also take the $50. Its not that much to lose. You live and you learn :D

Review the TOS and determine what was promised to you. Did you make the assumption of what kind of tracking data you would receive or was it spelled out? You need to look at it from the eyes of PayPal and how they will see it based on facts and not feelings.

If you know 100% that you did not get what was in the TOS, go for the full amount.

If you are simply unhappy with the results and "feel" they could have done more, get the $50 and move on.

Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. I instantly lost the dispute . But this is good info for next time.

PayPal only protects buyers from deliverable goods.... for online services/downloads, PayPal will reject the dispute without escalating.
