If you use Firefox or another Mozilla browser you can save your bookmarks by searching your hard drive for a folder named 'mozilla'. Inside you'll find a directory named 'Default' and inside of that you see yet another folder with a name consisting of letters and numbers, like this "3qxitiq5.slt". This name is random.

In that folder there is a file named 'bookmarks.html'. Copy it to a safe location!
If you need to reinstall your OS (like that ever happens! :D), just copy that file back to the new Mozilla-Default-3qxitiq5.slt folder to overwrite the existing bookmark file and everything will be back to normal.

Be sure to backup this bookmark.html file at least twice a month and you won't have to go thru a lot of hassle when your system crashes and burns.

Which it eventually will... sooner or later. :D

I like using the XMarks (used to be foxmarks) extension to sync them in the cloud. I can grab them anytime then.

As in Microsoft Excel???? Woow.... that's quite hard work.

I'd recommend using http://delicious.com/ it's really useful. It stores your bookmarks on an online account, so it is accesible from anywhere, and at the same time it has perfect integration with Firefox. Give it a try.

that reminds me, one of these types of services crashed last year and many people lost their saved pages. mozilla saves bookmarks as bookmarks.html so you can always store it online.
