I would've never thought something like this would work, but somehow it did amazingly!
Earlier this week, I was at local Starbucks meeting with a client to go over details of a web design project. Over the course of our conversation, there were numerous people around us and I'm guessing they overheard most of what we were talking about. The only things I was mentioning were services that I was offering to my client such as Reputation Management (thanks 7878!), Google Places optimization, PPC Management, and going over our contract. So what right? I thought the same thing.
After my client left, someone behind me at a different table started to chat with me all of a sudden about a web design project they needed as well because they overheard what I was saying and needed someone with my 'expertise'. We exchanged business cards and we have a meeting set week.
What happened next? I couldn't believe it.
Someone else called me today about a web design project! This new person got my card from the person that overheard my conversation initially! This new person what was at the same Starbucks but at a different table. We spoke today and we have a meeting booked for Monday.
What does this all mean? I got two potential clients from meeting in a area where there were lots of people in a similar mind set as you. I'm talking Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc. Everyone has a computer and everyone there is possibly connected with other business minded people or a owner themselves.
So next time you meet a client, meet them in a place like this and talk extra loud!
