It's looking like the worst of this storm will pass north of our area but we'll catch lots of rain and a bit of wind. I live in a 2 story brick townhouse (and not in a flood zone) so we should be safe here. I also got a good amount of extra canned food and water - if I don't need it for the storm, we can use it all over the next few weeks.

For those more directly in the storm's path, please keep yourself safe!

Biggest concern if you do not live in a flood zone has to be as usual power outage. If even regular tiny thunderstorm cause it we know people will be impacted. Oh well until there is serious money invested in infrastructure (which would save a lot down the road) we will see this circle happen over and over again.
But skipping that morning excercise in the park woul probably be a good idea. good luck to all not having any serious damages to any type of your property

One of the biggest things that would help in situations like this would be underground power lines. Some communities have done that but obviously, it takes alot of work and expense to do it but they can be protected from storm damage. It would take alot to do that nationwide...

Yeah I have to work tonight cause its for the state so I might be stuck there overnight etc. I heard on the highways its suppose to be really bad 50-60 mph winds. Someone has to be at the facility at all times so I will take your prayers.

Hey MrNewbie, I hear ya and will Pray for your safety. When I was active duty I've been in the same position, having to go in during semi-dangerous situation and not sure when you'll be relieved.

God Bless You and keep you safe!

This will be interesting to see. In general when they predict that something will be huge, it often isn't. Just like some of the snow storms and such that were predicted last year. That being said, I'm hoping it'll pass by without any major damage.
