So, I've a website that I bought around 8 months ago. Problem is - it gets all its traffic from a search that is more than likely for a company. (I've an EMD btw).

Now, I'm not the only person doing this, it's actually quite tough competition with other EMDs including some that have hyphens to try cash in on this.

Basically, what I want to know is: is there any easy way to find out if a term is trademarked or whatever? I'm pretty sure that I looked this up months ago and it said that it was trademarked up until the 1990s but that was just after spending a few minutes searching, I'd like to be 100% sure.

Reason why I want to know is because I don't think it's worth the risk if I could get in to trouble over this so id just sell it on.

    Thanks

When I search the term in that I get no results.

Does this basically mean that I can't get in to trouble over using a companies name, yes?

Edit - I searched under "quick search" in patents. Is that right?

    Hmm nothing there either.

I'm talking about the name of a company (not the name of a product), is this still what I need to check yeah ?

Nothing comes up for the name of the company there, so that should mean I'm fine....hmmm :)
