Hey guys, so i've been building my website in a way that has different sections, each section is keyword optimized for different keywords to keep my homepage, the landing page nice and clean.

However now my bounce rates aren't so good as these pages arent as attractive as my homepage which has less writing. My inbound links I've been pointing towards these pages instead of the homepage, so they are what's showing up in google when people search for example.

Keyword 1: page 1 is the result

    Question
If I change these inbound links to point to my home page instead of the page that has matching keywords, will it still rank well for that keyword?
Or maybe if I made all the links in my site no-follow on the menu, apart from the homepages?

Any advice is really appreciated! :)

Maybe the above is too confusing!

    Let's simplify with this question:

If I make my menu links rel no follow, my menu links being content rich and they all point to the homepage which has minimal content, will google then rank the homepage (I want this) instead of the content rich pages?

    Home Page:
For a website that has pages where each page is optimized for a different keyword, the home page does not really matter. You need to interconnect the related individual pages, such that they are relevant and build links to the individual pages (optimized for keyword). Build some link to the homepage as well, just to keep it natural.

As kamaa said, check out phpbuilt's guide - especially the section of avoiding duplicate content in your site (especially if you use wordpress)

If you point the links to your homepage, your homepage won't rank for the keywords those content-rich pages are showing up for, so don't change them. Just redesign your site and make the content-rich pages look better and well formatted.
