    hello,

Can someone advise me what ecommerce script i should use for my new store? I need something which is easy to manage with unlimited product support, paypal integration, very good add on support , SEO FRIENDLY and so on,

I will also need a template built around the script so any recommendations for this as well would be nice.

Also not too pricey. Max funding for script would be around $100.00. ( the cheaper in price the better)

    Thanks in advance

Zencart/oscommerce is great. Widely supported, open source, tons of community support. Supports all major payment processors and gateways..

    The Magento website is magentocommerce.com

I've been testing this software with Xampp and I'm seriously considering switching my sites over from ZenCart to Magento. ZenCart is an excellent open source solution as well, BTW.

darkincome - magento has built-in capability for software / digital downloads. SEO is supposed to be much better with magento as well, which is one of the reasons I'm considering the switch.

Secondly, in order to get the features that I wanted from Zencart, I had to find add ons, download them, then install and configure them to work. Sometimes an addon would hose some other component of my shopping cart. It took me a long time to get ZenCart to have the right look and features that I have now. With Magento, I would have saved a heck of a lot of time in the beginning. :p

Features like wishlist, similar products, digital downloads, special price, allow purchase without signups (cuts down on cart abandonment), wholesale, cross sells, SEO URLs, etc.

Before finding Magento (http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/making-money/22100-what-best-free-search-engine-optimization-shopping-cart.html), Zencart was hands down the best open source solution I found. The best paid solution in my opinion is CS-Cart.

I'm not knocking Zencart, because its a rock stable cart & has a huge community behind it.
My sites are running great with it & I simply "templated" my stores so that I can easily replicate my current setup.

I'll share my test results as I go in case anyone's interested.

I use Viart Shopping cart (http://www.viart.com) for 2 webshops now. This is like Magento - when I first find magento I was sure this script is based on the viart script.

Viart is really SEO friendly: all meta tags, url rawrite, article and category related products, product related products and accessories in the box. Also have a good WISWG editor, easy image uploader/resizer, import/export features RSS feeds in articles and Products, Google base integration, auto sitemap generator, and more.

Yes, this is a commercial soft, and have support - a good one. Price is 350, hosted is 50/month.

I like Magento. Had a lot of problems with Zencart when I was using it. The learning curve on Magento is smaller as well.

    Upate.
    after testing the following carts.
    oscommerce
    zencart
    xcart
    cubecart
    viart

i have to say that viart is the most user friendly for someone who has no programming knowledge. zencart and oscommerce are just too deep. in all fairness i didnt give xcart and cubecart to much time. they just were not for me.

I am going with viart for my sites.

Thanks to all for your suggestions.

I'm uploading the Magento store as I type this. It looked to be the best fit for what I need right now. I'll update this once I've got it installed and tested out. ;)

You should really try PrestaShop. It isn't at all as bloated as all those other alternatives + it's really SEO-friendly.

I tried all of the mentioned here and PrestaShop is the one that really does the trick.

Good luck on your evil ventures. :)
