    Working on an e-commerce site, it's ranking for many porn/fetish related searches that definitely aren't going to convert.. Would you do something to remove those from the google results, since those people aren't going to be spending time on the site / clicking through other pages / actually buying product?

    That might be true but branding is big when it comes to ecom stores, especially when you're it in for the long run. And I'm positive ranking for porn keywords won't help with branding.

    @OP:
    If you remove the pages that are ranking, Google will eventually notice that the content is not there anymore and the pages will stop ranking.

    Absolutely false, google definitely cares about time spent on site and bounce rate.. and the people coming for these terms are bouncing very quickly. Plus, I find it hard to believe that traffic that is NOT converting is valuable. That's like saying bot traffic is valuable.

    Not all traffic is good traffic and the wrong traffic can hurt you in the long run. Having shit traffic pollutes your analytics and makes it significantly harder for you to analyze top performing content. It also effects your ability to critically evaluate user behavior from your top segments making it difficult to perform CRO, which is essential for any ecommerce site. I would work to eliminate the garbage traffic from your site.

    It is very funny that an ecommerce site is ranking for porn related search. You can simply enjoy the traffic from it, or you can delete the page which is ranking for that keyword or change the content of it.

    If you don't want to lose the ranking then put some products which are related to adult niche. This will end up in getting traffic as well as some sales.

    Google definitely tracks SERP return rate, time spent on site (already mentioned) etc which could negatively impact SEO true, but I'm sure this is done per keyword and not on an entire site basis. I would say focus your results on ranking better for other keywords and you'll probably drop out of these..

    OP: Is the site selling sex toys or something sex related? And is it inner blog pages ranking for these terms? If this is bad or good depends on your niche and what pages are ranking for them.
