I search prior to asking this question, but it seems that all of the topics related to this was far too old. I know Google recently handed out some "slaps".

Is it worth the time to modify your .htaccess file so that when some clicks on your link it'll automatically display the keyword at the end of the url.

    ex: http://www.MySite.com/dogtraining

    Where dogtraining was dynamically inserted.

I did this a couple of years ago with S.peedPPC just want to know if that is still effective or not.

    Thanks

Yeah, I would say it is a significant factor to have the keyword in the url. It is a common practice these days. Wordpress and the like support it if you change your permalink structure.

If you use wordpress you don't have to edit the .htaccess. You can just chance the permalink for the page in wordpress itself. For the homepage you would just have to make another page and set that page as default.
