I am creating a new site about dwarf hamsters, I'm trying to cover every subject from Proper Care to Breeding. But I know virtually nothing about SEO. So I have two questions:

    1. Would this site qualify as an authority site?
    2. What are the SEO variables that I should consider with this type of site?
    3. Should I use a Silo structure?(I'm using WordPress to build it)
    3. How would you drive traffic to a site like this, for such a small niche?

    Thank you.

    1. Authority isn't automatic. Focus on creating a site with high-quality, informative content.
    2. Write naturally and target people, not search engines.
    3. Yes
    4. One idea is... to find and participate in forums related to hamsters :)

The main things I would suggest:
1.focus highly on writing lots of quality content - seeing as you know the subject (by the sounds of it) this is your biggest advantage, don't waste it.

2.keyword research - find the things that people are searching for in that niche, and cpc etc, if you are writing lots of stuff on subjects that have no searches, you'd be wasting your time.

3.for SEO, forum posting is good, as said above. Anything more than that you probably need to invest in some services from our market place, or take a good few months out to read up on some strategies here before you can do it yourself.
