Lets say I have a nice article on my home page it gets copied/stolen you know the drill. At this point I dont care about google duplicate penalty as it was indexed on my site first and I have original author rights in google eyes if such thing exists.

Now I move content from home page to inner page and page gets indexed do I still have original author rights? Do those rights pass from home page to inner page even though there is no 301 redirect?

If I copy first paragrath of the content and put it in google without "" my site does not come up first but 5th .If I put content in quotes"" Iam on first spot

i've never heard of "original author rights" out of google's mouth -- you sure you didn't just make this up? Anyway, if you're moving the url of your page, don't worry about it. That happens all the time, and isn't a big deal. That's not what Google is targetting with duplicate content penalty. What they are trying to do is avoid one article that is on 10+ web sites all showing up for the same results #1-10. Kind of like when you search "craigslist" in Google -- they all show the same the domain? That's what they are trying to avoid with content.

Yes I got it from one of the youtube videos from Matt that google considers original article/source the one its indexed first.

What Iam confused about is this

domain a get content indexed on monday
domain b copies content and gets it indexed on tuesday
domain a moves content too inner page and gets indexed on wednesday

If google gives some sort of time stamp on the content they find is it per page or domain wide? If per page than domain a would not be considered author of the content once moved.

Just by changing the url I don't think you would invalidate that your site was the first to be indexed with said content. But really, you don't want to be changing urls around a whole lot, and if you do, use a 301 from old url to new url.

Thanks for the reply. I was redesigning my site I had to move it and 301 from home page would not work.

Yeah, don't worry about it then. Blogs always post the first 10 articles on the homepage and then they disappear to their own page. It's a one-time change. Don't sweat it. I would however put a link from the homepage to the new one, so google can find it easily.

I think if you use this under same url then there should not be any problems at all. You should get the result you deserve. Or you can contact with google to have some solutions about this.
