Up to now I had been paying freelancers to spin the articles on my site and then submit them to Ezine, but I just read an ebook that recommends you submit the exact same articles that are on your site to these directories.

Is this a good idea if the content on my site has already been indexed? It would save me a ton of effort and money.

No, you want them spun... granted it costs some cash but you want them at least semi-unique.

Logic tells me that Google will mark the duplicate content as... duplicate content and any links from those pages will not pass much (if any) link juice. However, this has not been properly tested by me.

This guy claims, in "The Adsense Plan:"

jwseo I agree with your logic but surely my site won't be punished for having an article like that? After all if that were the case a competitor could just copy someone's content and post it randomly.

It won't affect the money site but it may affect the link power coming from the page with duplicate content (which after all is the purpose of creating that page).

So if you want to use the same content for the next tier as well is not recommended - the best is to spin your content (if is good quality) and to promote it in the next tiers. Like this you'll have a good continuity on your Tiers

You need to get away from duplicate content and use unique content. Quality beats quantity all the time these days.
