Lets say i wrote this one article which is copyrighted by me but someone comes over to my site and copies it and posts it in his blog. Then would I and he both get a penalty from google ?? If it is, then that sounds unfair for the original content owner D:

    Thanks in advance!

The first article which is indexed gains the unique rights. Saying that, I tested 50:50 duplicated and unique content on one of my sites and it hit number 1 in a matter of weeks, from very little effort.

I think if someone is stealing your content, then if they don't link back to the original source then Google will not be pleased. I linked back to the dupe content I 'borrowed', but then changed the colour and size of the URL text so it was barely noticeable.

Also, the one who has more back link wins the fight. Suppose the person who copied your content has more backlinks to your content wins in the end. Google gives more priority to backlinks.

I think,Google will give more value to site A, if it crawls site A's content first. The only reason behind this fast crawling is that site A is more powerful from SEO point of view.
