Ok, this is probably a stupid question but I've never used paid traffic before. I want to inflate the numbers on some EZA but most traffic packages come in 10k and that seems like WAY too much to send to a single article. So, I was thinking about directing the traffic to a page on my site and then doing a 301 redirect of that page to my target page. This way I can change the page that the traffic is going to each day. I just want to make sure that even if the traffic is going through a 301 it'll still count as a visitor to the article right? I'm 99.9% sure I know the answer is yes but figure I should verify before wasting the money (even if it is only $5 or so). Thanks!

Any redirects strip Google auto-tagging parameters so if you're using Google analytics, the UTM variables will get stripped during the redirect.

What traffic packages are you talking about?

Also, with paid search, your display URL has to represent the page the user can expect to land on when they redirect. So do you plan to put EZineArticles.com as your display URL but plan to send them to your website to redirect them to ezine? Doesn't make much sense to me.

thanks, I wasn't talking about paid search but rather purchasing a traffic package from a provider here.

I was reading one of those threads and the girl there said that she can spread the traffic over few days, so you can get like 500/day.. for a # of days.

As far as I know you can't use a re-direct page as your traffic target page when you want to buy one of the traffic packages that are listed on BHW.

I talked to the provider and she recommended using a URL rotator to switch between sites so no one site gets too much traffic. that will likely be my solution but, in the thread she also mentions that a redirected page would work. Thanks for the responses.
