This is what I think
It's a joke.
While drugs can be fun and useful for some medical purposes, I think sometimes media 'glorifies' them. There are also a list of bad effects from drugs that people should know about. Not everyone has the self control to just do them once in a while for recreational purposes. People become addicted, make bad decisions, and/or lose lots of money. Sure drugs are cool and I went through a phase where I experimented. But, I don't think they're for everyone, especially if they effect your life in negative ways.

Didn't watch the programme because I find it boring watching people talking about drugs. It's been a long time since I took a pill and I'm a straight edge kind of guy at the moment but if everyone had access to non poisoned MDMA we would all love each other a bit more and understand the great possibilities life has in store instead of worrying about small crap.
I do agree to a certain extent, that's the problem most people lack the self control required to control their use of any pleasurable substance. For me, alcohol is the devil, although I still like a drink, I know I find it very hard to know when to stop and 9 times out of 10 I'll end up totally out of control. Weed ,E's,Coke, whatever. Different strokes and all that. Believe it or not there are a large number of people living reasonably controlled middle class lifestyles who take heroin, I know guys that have taken cocaine recreationally at weekends etc for many, many years and don't wake up needing a line but I've known guys that have had a few mad nights out and end up ruining there lives in a matter of months if not weeks. I just personally believe the need to get "out of ones mind" shall we say, in one form or another is an essential part of the human condition,a part of our appetite that is as essential as hunger or thirst. I'm not just talking about drugs either, whether it's going to the gym, shopping,TV it doesn't matter.
Shade Dream, what do you mean? Do you think the programme was a joke? Or drugs as a whole, or what?
My thought exactly Duffers5000! Safety first, but allow people the freedom to explore different emotions whether there artificially stimulated or not. In a nutshell, fuck the government! I;m glad channel 4 had the balls to do a show like that.
I was going to put it on 4OD tonight but I can't break away from my Derren Brown marathon.
I will be watching on my day off tomorrow. Thanks!
OP, I'm suprised it is still so low quality in your city. If you don't mind me asking, where are you?
Derren Brown is so nuts, when I watch it, it just messes with my head. It looks real, but how can it be real!?
Don't listen to him OP. It's Heisenberg trying to find another district to push his blue meth on.
I read your post but couldn't get a single thing to be honest. The keyword "Drug" brought me here.
I'm high maybe thats why.
Central Scotland Illfounded, yeah, you can't hate the playa I suppose. And yeah, Derren Brown, is like NLP on Dust. Awesome. Anyway, to summarise, I'm pretty glad we in the UK were allowed to show a programme of a bunch of people getting thizzy on E, I couldn't imagine that happening in many countries just now tbh, western anyway. I've asked myself, why are drugs illegal, for a long time now , and I still haven't found an answer to that question. When I see half the NHS budget goes towards helping people injured or smashed on booze every weekend or folk addicted to nasty , nasty prescription drugs over half their adult lifetime it makes me feel rather rotten to be honest. Take a few pills, have a smoke, fuggedaboudit.
Well the man has powers! I was late for work the next morning because everytime I woke up I had a dream he was putting me back to sleep. It made me fall asleep instantly after several alarms.
When I arrived late for work on Thursday and told my boss she killed herself laughing. Said it was the best excuse I've made yet. hahaha
Haha! Did that actually happen, or was it just an excuse?!
It sounds like Derren was reaching out to you! He is a head-fuck
It happened! Each time I woke to an alarm, I half dreamed him standing over my saying " Shh, back to sleep " my partner said he heard me say " Ok " and then snore within seconds about 4 times between 7 and 8. Im obviously into being dominated. lol!
Ah if only it were real. There would be no chance if he was here. He'd get dragged under my covers and my partner would be swiftly booted off the other side of the bed.
Haha, so sounds like you have a thing for Mr Brown!
You would not want to be in a relationship with Derren, he would be an absolute nightmare. He would ALWAYS get his own way lol.
It was actually Derren Brown's intention to subtly hijack this thread too, that's how awesome and sinister that dude is!
