My paypal account was limited and paypal is requiring that I upload the INVOICES/RECEIPTS for 5 specific sales before they will restore my account.

However, all of my items are DROPSHIPPING purchases (from amazon and other online retail stores where I purchase the item from an online retailer after it has sold and I have it shipped directly to the ebay customer), so I'm very concerned that if I show them the receipts that they will close my account since I don't actually have the items I'm selling. Also, one of the 5 items was a refund because the store was out of stock and I couldn't find it anywhere else. Therefore, there is no invoice/receipt for it.

Does anyone know paypal?s position on dropshipping? Is it safe for me to tell them I am dropshipping and give them the real invoices/receipts? 4 of the items were successfully purchased, however one of them was out of stock so I had to refund the buyer. Or should I try to create invoices that show a wholesale purchase from a different company or should I try to modify the existing invoices to show the items shipping to me and at an earlier date? I don?t feel very confident of my ability to create/modify invoices and I'm worried that doing so will make the situation worse. I read somewhere else online that paypal will contact the suppliers to verify the invoices. Is this true?

Have any other dropshippers had their paypal account limited like this? I would really appreciate any advice. I'm really worried that my account will be closed. This is currently my only source of income. Also, my rent money is currently locked in my paypal account.

Also, I use my paypay account to make the purchases, so if I have a sale, I can't purchase the item right now.

Is that a mistake for me to use the same paypal account for dropshipping purchases and sales? Is that a redflag for paypal?

Also, it is my business account that is currently limited, but I also have a personal paypal account. Should I temporarily unlink my business paypal account from ebay and link my personal paypal account instead, so that any money from new sales is also not frozen?

Thanks for any help on this!!

My primary question is: Is it safe for me to tell paypal that I am dropshipping and give them the real invoices/receipts for my dropshipping purchases? Thanks!

Drop shipping in itself is not the problem. The problem is going to be that you're going to have to prove that what you drop shipped was not fake and not VERO. If you sold something for $299 that the brand controls distribution and enforces price floor for merchants so there is no possible way you can sell for that price, guess what? You're going to be banned no matter what. If you sold something that has factory/wholesale/retail distribution, turning in realistic looking invoices may save you and it may not be a big deal.

I'm buying fairly mundane items (like sporting goods, toys, household goods, tools) at retail prices from common online U.S. retailers who have stores in every major city. There is no chance any of it is counterfeit. The only issue I have is the dropshipping. Should I should I show paypal the real invoices/receipts or create other ones? i.e., will paypal close my account for dropshipping? If so, can anyone recommend anyone to help with the invoices/receipts? Thanks!

Paypal won't close your account for dropshipping except it's obvious you are doing something really bad!!

I have a company that can help you generate invoice & phone verification. We charge by the $ order amount of your invoice. So if you want us to generate an invoice for $500, that will be 3% fee which is $15. Let me know if you are interested.

I was doing dropshipping from Amazon to eBay with a certain success since a few days. I sold on eBay 5 vacuum cleaners dropshipped from Amazon, so very basic products...

    BUT

A few days ago PayPal asked for the same documents as you, so I sent them my 5 last invoices (taken from Amazon) and all ID documents.

And today they told me my activity (dropshipping) was too risky and then they can't reopen my account. Thanks PayPal, cool...

So I will go stealth now, hoping they won't close my future account as well.

Don't loose your time sending documents, they will close your account anyway. They don't like dropshipping even if it's legal, they told me on the phone.

    Good luck

Thanks for the reply. How long have you been selling on ebay? How many items have sold total? Thanks

I sold 6 or 7 items in around one month. Then they limited my account.
Ebay account is 9 years old (only one month as a seller), and paypal account is one month old.

I'm guessing that they banned you because your invoices were dated after the sale on eBay. eBay and paypal doesn't like it when you sell stuff without having it in hand if you're a small operation.

if they request docs, you've got about 0.05% chance of getting it open. You will send the first set of docs. Then they will request more, you will send them. Then they will either request 1 more set or ban you. If you don't mind waiting 6 months, you can sell to your ebays limited and you got a nice 6 month saving account.

Paypals CS are the worst out there. I wouldn't bother with docs unless you have nurtured the account for many months .. then you may get the account reopened .. if you are very lucky. People will say "you need to do this or that"

Like the guy above who said if you sell undervalued vero .. that sounds like a very plausable reason .. yet the only account i've every got reopened was an account selling ipads below value. Paypal will close you down for nothing.

Use VM's, use multiple portable browsers, use new IP's. Don't sell anything in month 1 if your selling products over £30. Sell little in month 2, steadily increase. Pray that the miserable cow that reviews your account has had a good shag the night before and doesn't limit you.

Why would paypal care if you are dropshipping?
