If you're just starting out I'd recommended dropshipping or running a ecom store.
If you really want to learn the biz of wholesale go work for a distributor or wholesaler for a few years. There isn't really much online or many resources to learn how to wholesale.

Dropshipping is always a good choice, when you can sell many products without needing large capital or importing goods. It's also easier to operate because it's all done with mouse clicks

Start with dropshipping until you have a certain financial base and user base, then consider turning into direct sales and setting up your own brand.
