I have been using Ebay to drop-ship from Amazon but just got pissed off with lining Ebay's pockets with fees and all the stupid rules they keep introducing which never helps the sellers only the buyers.
I was thinking of setting up a number of websites listing the products (it would be small individual niches as opposed to general products, so i can rank for long tail keywords) and sending from Amazon. I know the traffic will be low compared to Ebay but at least i would have much more control and not have to jump through Ebays hoops every time they decide to change things. Has anybody done this sort of thing and been successful at it?

Why not do both and send your eBay customers to your site with a little ad at the bottom of your listing, your allowed a little link to your site (check there terms out first its been a while since i have checked).
You can also tell them to check your site out when you email them the delivery details.
