I was thinking of getting into dropshipping, found a niche, found a dropshipper, but he requires a resale/business registration certificate and federal tax id.

I'm not a resident of the US. Is there anyway around this?

if you're willing to share source and split MOQ I may be able to help, or just do it for a small fee if I'm not interested in product. Message me.

Just because you're not a US resident doesn't mean your company can't be. Just incorporate in the US and apply online for a EIN and you're all set. When you incoporate try to use a service that provides a registered agent address and you're good. There's lots of companies that can handle this for you cheaply just google terms like nevada corporation or delaware corporation etc. Normally you wouldn't even need to incorporate to get an EIN but since you are not in the US you will need a registered agent address so incorporating is your best bet imo.

NotInKansas is pretty close, look up "shelf companies" or "shell companies", two different things but semi similar concepts. You can buy a corporation within the states, establish a board of directors, hand the company over to an attorney and put power of attorney with you. That way the ownership is obfuscated, covered under attorney/client privilege, and registered in the US.
