just as the title implies, I bought a PR2 domain and built a site on it and now it dropped all the sudden. its http://pagebin.com. The only thing I can think of is that the previous owner had some backlinks that are no longer valid. There used to be some pages like pagebin.com/93mdm that had backlinks but in my system there were no corresponding pages and I didn't think they should be indexed so I used PHP to send a 404 not found header if they are visited. is this why? I sure would like to get the pr2 back.

I looked at your site. My guess is that it's due to a lack of content. The site appears fairly bare to me. Then again I could be missing something.

Should really have redirected those pages to valid pages. But I doubt it would effect much, prob as you say links are gone - especially if the content has changed dramatically.

My advise is just start building some of your own links.

Why do you care what PR your site is?

It was probably a fake PR.... I can make my website show a PR of 10.
    OR
Since you transferred a domain, it is treated as a new domain... thus the PR0

    Take a guess
Looks like PR 2 to me..

But just so you know, the seller can just put a 301 redirect to it from a PR 2 site and then remove it after you bought it.

thanks. the other day when I checked it, the http://pagebin.com was showing pr2 and the www was not. strange. I am in the US.

I don't blame the seller. I didn't even know the PR before I bought the domain. I just bought it because I needed the name.

No. Even a packed domain could receive PR point.
Did you check if its PR is real/valid before you buy?

Why does your site's PR even matter to you, unless you plan on selling links from it?
