Dropped from 7th to 40th in SERPS today. Is this good or bad?

I know this sounds an obvious question as to dropping means 'bad'.
But I read that this might actually turn out to be a positive thing, because it actually bounce back up higher?

Its a fairly new site; 2 months old.
Have been building links to it consistently, everyday pretty much.

    It started off 70th -> 33th -> 14th -> 9th -> 7th -> 40th

Can someone share their experience on this? Thanks

for your scenario it is defiantly good! when it goes flying backwards it means Google is deciding where to put you now, and as long as you did didn't do spam backlinks it should defiantly go bouncing back to 4th or 3rd position after a week or so.

    Well done :)

    Thanks for your response.
Well. the reason i asked is because I realized that some of my keywords (from another site), were bounced to 100th point and did not bounce back to top 20 again..... :(

    Thanks guys.

I havent done any major changes, but I do AMR + SB Blast daily (not directly to money site). I then put them all into linklicious.

Sounds like a dance to me. Had something similar happen a few weeks ago. Site was at #9, went to like #100, came back at #4.. Went back to #9 few days ago, now #15.

I'm pretty sure it's gonna come back higher up.

    Just keep building links.

    Its probably just a dance,

it happened to 3 of my sites, im not too worried they always bounce back in a better position within a few days, just hang in there.

Probably just a google dance. Just keep building backlinks and make sure they're authoritative.

Sounds like the cha cha...It could be google has temporarily devalued some of your tier 1 backlinks due to the constant links they are getting. If the tier 1 properties are strong you will likely improve your ranking.

    What do you guys suggest?
Should I keep building more web2.0 properties and blast AMR/SB to it?

    Thanks

If you have taken time to do some of the suggestions mentioned above, in most cases, it takes some days to know whether or not it's a permanent fall in rankings.

Why dont you do some manual stuff? relevant posts in forums, blogs etc.. Also some manual unique articles to high PR article directories, manually done press releases etc..
Your links dont seem diverse. what is see based on your post is AMR>Tier 1>Money Site or SB>Tier 1>Money site

How about bookmarks to some of your better articles too?

There was a pretty big shift yesterday. I'm sure you got hit by it if your rankings dropped yesterday afternoon. This is too wide scale to be a dance, I'm seeing it across at least 15 different industries with old and new sites.

Sounds like a dance to me man. Most important thing to know is to never stop linking to your site.

its the dance baby.. which means its a very good thing for a new fairly new site. Keep building quality links and within 2 to 3 weeks you'll find your spot. Hopefully closer to 1 or even at 1. Good luck bro and keep pressing on.
