    Hey guys,

As you can see in the title, I'm thinking whether to quit or not.

I'm on my second year, studying geography, of course I'm not even planning to get a 9-5 job with this profession, when I applied I was looking forward to it, but than I discovered IM and now I'm earning probably more than I'll ever get to earn in a tourism firm, lol.

The only reason I'm studying there right now is my mom, she doesn't want me to quit, it's pretty boring, I enjoyed my first year but now I'm just going there and back, not having fun at all.

Sometimes I'm missing from all the lectures along the week, in other words I don't enjoy it anymore.

What would you do, what features am I gonna miss if I drop out ?

    Thanks for your time.

I wouldn't quit college/university. If you take advantage of some of the things uni has to offer, it can help you learn how to think critically/logically/rationally. It does hlep expand your mind and open yourself up to possibilities. Unfortunately, most people don't really utilize college/uni correctly. They memorize what they need to know to pass exams, get a job and make money. But my feeling is uni can really help you grow as an intellectual - if you take advantage.

Master IM while you're studying.. It'll be good money even part time, and then when you're done uni you can switch to full time and still be better off.

Bro, go and read ferma's thread where he asked the same question, there are plenty of awesome answers there...

stay at uni, date lots of girls, have fun, get a diploma (its a paper that will later open doors for you that you maybe don't realise yet.. not just professionally).. its just 1-2 years.. you have another 50-70 (hope for you ;) ) years after that to do IM full time.

If you are not observant enough not to see that there have been 343,823,289 other threads with the exact same title, then I don't think you will get much out of college.

Also, anyone who is so short sighted that they ask a board full of strangers whether they should make probably the biggest mistake in their entire lives to drop out of higher education to pursue something that only 5% of people on this entire board are successful at, should probably drop out of college.

Please drop out and make room for someone who actually cares.

if your earnings show it, quit. You can always go back and try something else. Don't for a second worry about your mom. Ask her if she organised her life according to her parents wishes.

Stay in school man. Do it for your mom. Life is long, whats a couple more years of schooling after you've been through so much. That degree will mean tons even if its not used for the 9-5 job you get. Unless you are making 200k+ a year online, then I would start to reconsider...

    quitting = failing

no matter if u like it or not

if u once said you were going to do it, then do it & finish it.

its a mindset, the way you think is the way you become

Dude, i already talked with you.

If you know you can be good in IM , then drop out, if you really arent interested doing that shit, but then you will need to dedicate a lot of time in IM.
For real, school now fucks me up in IM and i cant do as much as i could. I cant drop out now since only 3 months left

But i wont go in higher education after High school.

In the end It is your choice and your life, you live it and dont rely on other people suggestions and experience ;)

Its different for me, i wanted to quit school. But stayed idk i wont get anything, just shit diploma what i will burn later of course , fuck that shit, it isnt worth shit, i dont wanna be in 9-5 job.

2 years in IM full time could get you some nice $$$ , but school will take about more then half of your day, homeworks etc will take some time as well. Imagine all that time invested in IM ?
Anyway, maybe im just crazy, but i do look strange at whole this school shit, school is made to make you 9-5 worker, and its made for economy.

get 1h to watch this movie :

Before considering dropping out can you delegate more time towards IM from other aspects of your life?
Maybe restructure your life to evolve around IM and University?

    Cheers,

Nice try... but there's no point in being that rude. I'm not asking because I'll do as you say, I'm just curious what others think.

I don't get it what the hell does failing to do with this ?!

I wanna do what I'm good at.

I'm just spending 5+ hours daily, for what, nothing.

Girls, lol, I can get girls somewhere else :D

I'm leaving for a while, will check this thread after a few hours.

    Thanks.

Change your major to something Marketing related. I'm pretty sure they don't have an IM major, but at least change it something that has the same tactics as marketing. IM really isn't going anywhere, and school isn't either. But I would rather finish school first while you're young instead of going back years later. Plus, it's always good to have some credentials just IN CASE you do get tired of IM. But I strongly suggest changing your major.

    Hello,
I have been through what you are going through right now. I now know the not so obvious pitfalls of quitting school.
My advice: quit! Run! Get away from that place.... BUT

But not before you have a skill which has real good market value. What do I mean? lets say you like computers, learn programming. Try Python.
Learn Photoshop. Anything that interests you. Once you have a skill that has a ready market value, quit and never look back.

My mistake: I quit before becoming very good at programming. I thought I could live off IM while learning to code. WRONG. I was wrong. It was hard for me due to this. I hope you follow my advice.

    Summary:
Stay in school and learn a skill that has ready market value. Like programming / photoshop / animation.
Once you have enough skills to easily land freelancing jobs because you know your shit, quit.

Why not start some kind of ADSENSE of what ever site with your day to day activities in University. Or on the subjects. Im sure when your done with your studies, you will remember everything + you will earn forever with it with adsense or what ever. Also it will help you with studies, if You even place all your summeries on the site and guide some other students there, in no time you will have some kind of forum or community going with people sharing their summaries and their studies and experience and help people and everybody just starts helping everyone. Monetize with adsense etc. People in your class etc and the next year and the next year etc will love you for it.

    You know what ???

I just got a F*cking amazing idea for myself.

    Good luck!!!!!!!

Enjoy and enjoy the ladies!!! In the start of IM, your all alone no girls no live!!! lol.

Don't quit collage, you will need the information that you learn there to make a better life for yourself. Dropping out of school is always a bad ideal.

24 hours in a day - 5 hours studying - 8 hours sleeping = 11 hours for IM and other stuff
