Heya guys, im going nuts here, i run a freelance site for people looking to find freelancers... well, its similar, its like this anyways..

i looked at my biggest rivals, yet the keywords they look for get 49500 searches according to google keyword search, however according to google trends/insights they get hardly anything at all these keywords.. which should I listen to?

ive got my page to the top of google for a few keywords, position 1 through to 4, however, im getting NO CLICKS WHATSOEVER.... well... a couple,

my average site clicks per day is 10... im wondering what advice you would give to someone in dire need!!

I appreciate any comments, I would be ever so grateful if just a couple of people (even just one) would help me on a personal level and pm me so I can give you the keywords im trying to rank for and see if you have any tips.

Thanks for your time in advance guys

SEO is great. No doubt in that. But you should not rely on just that for traffic.

People forget that there is "old school marketing" that can be applied.

So especially with your type of niche. Most people who are on freelancer.com, do you think came there through google? Probably not. Through forums, through word of mouth etc.

First, look at exact match and yes the insight/trend is reliable.
